Where are we really at?????

Hi guys, it's Jennifer and I am slipping in as a guest blogger. Yesterday was arguably the worst homeschooling day we have had in a while. It is hard to know that everyone else is out for the summer and you are at home "slaving" away every day doing your school work. What we lose sight of is that, while they are slaving away in September, October; we are relaxing on the beach. The beach, where it is cooler and just as beautiful and much less crowded :)

The other thing it is easy to lose sight of when you home school year round is where we really stand with regards to the other kids. Today is July 27 and at the end of this week we will have already finished 119 days this "school year" but we have only been on our new grade years for about 4 months now. It all gets very confusing and it makes it tough on a kid sometimes. Joseph said to me yesterday, "when we get all they days in we are suppose to have, I want to take a break!"

So as I was talking to my Mom last night she said, " you had a good day right?". My response, "NOPE", "it was pretty crappy, but it is behind us now, and that is all that counts."

There will be difficult days to home school no matter what schedule you follow or curriculum you use, but the important part is that you keep moving forward and put the bad behind you.

Doing math was hard for both of us today. I did base 16 and my sister did advanced multication. Lets just say it was easy after i got the hang of it . My sister got done before I did and was stoked. So in the end it was a good day.
